Hi, I’m Michaela. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee, and my goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are without feeling judged or misunderstood. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I want you to feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for from the very beginning.
I believe that real change happens in relationships, and that includes the one we build together in therapy. I also view people through a systemic lens, meaning I don’t just look at what’s happening within you, but also how your relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences shape what you’re going through. Together, we’ll explore those patterns in a way that helps you feel more clarity, relief, and direction.
My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and tailored to you. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. I also have training through the National OCD Academy, with experience supporting OCD, hoarding, and eating disorders, along with a background in substance use treatment.
I work with adults, teens, young adults, and couples, and I genuinely love working with teens and young adults. There’s something really meaningful about supporting people during those in-between stages of life where identity, relationships, and direction are still taking shape.
I’m currently completing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University and gaining supervised clinical experience. My work in substance use treatment has deeply shaped how I see people. I hold a lot of respect for the resilience it takes to keep going, even when things feel heavy.
I strive to be culturally aware, affirming, and respectful of your unique story and identity. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just curious about the process, I’d be honored to support you.
