Hola! Welcome to Horizon Counseling Center. My name is Paula, and I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. I currently offer telehealth services, making it easier to connect and receive support from the comfort of your own space.
I provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and children/teens. My background includes working as a case worker in the reunification department, which has given me a deeper understanding of family dynamics and the challenges many families face. I’m also certified as a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator and hold a Christian Counseling Certificate.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and practical—I work alongside you, not above you. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on, identify goals, and come up with real, workable solutions. I often integrate different approaches depending on your needs and what will best support your growth.
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family struggles, co-parenting, self-esteem, and challenges within the Hispanic/Latino community. I also support children and teens navigating issues like bullying, family conflict, and divorce.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported—while also being gently challenged to grow. My style is down-to-earth, interactive, compassionate, and at times direct when needed. If you’d like, I can also incorporate faith-based counseling into our work together.
